Block Island Trip Updates

Posted on Jun 5 2013 - 4:30pm

Block Island Attendees, Please review and plan for the following:

  1. There is a very high likelihood of rain on Saturday. Attendees are encouraged to bring a day pack with them on Saturday morning that includes rain gear (pants/jacket) that they can put on and wear while riding a bicycle to the campsite and while touring the island. Please dress appropriately. Expect wind and cool temperatures. Overnight packs will not be accessible until after we reach the campsite.
  2. For this trip only, sneakers will be allowed for bike riding.
    • Sneakers must be in good condition - subject to adult leader inspection. NO HOLES.
    • Attendees must also bring hiking boots and must demonstrate that this gear is either on the attendee's feet or packed prior to leaving St. Jude. If putting them in the overnight pack, be ready to show them on Friday evening before loading the trailer.
    • Sneakers may be worn on Saturday morning starting from St Jude.
    • Adult Leaders will identify when boots must be worn.
    • No person will be allowed to go on the trip without hiking boots.
  3. Class B (red) shirts are required on Saturday. Please arrive at St Jude wearing your Class B shirt.
  4. ALL Block Island Trip Attendees MUST bring their gear to St. Jude on Friday evening to load the trailer and tow vehicle. NO EXCEPTIONS - we do not have time to load gear on Saturday morning.
  5. All Block Island Attendees must arrive at St Jude at 5:30 am on Saturday morning. We will be leaving St Jude promptly at 5:45 am. We will not wait for anyone (just like the ferry that we are getting on).
