OPEN LETTER TO OUR FAMILIES

An Open Letter to Our Families

You may have heard or seen a lot in the media lately about the BSA "ineligible volunteer" files. These files, which were maintained by the National office, have been maintained since the early days of our organization. The files list the names of people who are deemed unsuitable for membership in the Boy Scouts of America because of their inappropriate behavior; primarily sexual abuse. The files have never been secret. They have been reported on in newspapers, books, and other media, but were kept confidential because experts agree that confidentiality is a key component of effective reporting.

A Letter from the Troop Committee Chairman

Posted on Sep 18 2012 - 1:45pm

To the families of Troop 163:

The Troop has an exciting and fun year planned and we are off to a roaring start. As the Troop Committee Chair, I am asking you for your support and engagement in the Troop. We have a parent committee meeting the first Sunday of each month. That is where we discuss the future plans and the business of the Troop and get feedback from our leadership on past events. We really would love your input.
